Paying online should be the easy part. On Shaam you can pay the courier in cash when your order arrives, or pay ahead with a mobile wallet or bank transfer. This guide walks through each option, what happens after you pay, the limits that apply, and a few habits that keep your money safe.
Prices and currencies
All prices are set in US dollars, with the equivalent in Syrian pounds (SYP) shown alongside at the store's exchange rate. Your order total, including the delivery fee for your area, is shown clearly at checkout before you confirm.

Cash on delivery, step by step
- Add items to your cart and go to checkout.
- Choose Cash on delivery and confirm your address and phone number.
- Place the order. You will see it in My orders as pending, then confirmed once our team reviews it.
- When the courier arrives, check the parcel, then pay the amount shown on your order, in USD or SYP.
The cash limit
Cash on delivery has a maximum order total, $500 by default. If your cart is above the limit, checkout will ask you to choose a wallet or bank transfer instead. You can also split a large purchase into separate orders if that suits you better.
Phone confirmation by SMS
For larger cash-on-delivery orders, we may ask you to confirm your phone number with a 6-digit code sent by SMS. Enter it at checkout and you are done. It simply confirms that the number belongs to you, so the courier can reach you on the day.
Paying with Sham Cash, Syriatel Cash or MTN Cash
The three mobile wallets work the same way on Shaam:
- At checkout, choose your wallet and place the order.
- Open your order page. It shows the exact amount and the wallet details to pay to.
- In your wallet app, send the total to those details.
- Back on your order page, upload a photo or screenshot of the receipt and type the reference number from the transfer.
- Our staff check the payment and confirm it. Your order then moves to confirmed and on to processing.
Tip: take the screenshot on the wallet's success screen, where the amount, date and reference number are all visible.
Paying by bank transfer
Bank transfer follows the same pattern. Your order page shows the account details and the amount. Make the transfer from your bank, then upload a clear photo of the transfer slip or a screenshot from your banking app, together with the reference number. Bank transfers can take a little longer to confirm than wallets, depending on the bank.
Which method should you choose?
- You want to see the parcel before paying: cash on delivery, as long as the total is within the limit.
- You already use a mobile wallet: Sham Cash, Syriatel Cash or MTN Cash are quick, and you do not need to have exact cash ready on delivery day.
- Your order is large: bank transfer or a wallet, since cash on delivery stops at the limit.
- You are ordering for someone else: paying ahead by wallet or bank transfer means the person receiving the parcel does not have to pay the courier.
What happens after you pay
Once payment is confirmed, your order moves through the usual steps: confirmed, processing, packed, shipped or out for delivery, delivered. Each step sends you an in-app notification (and a push notification if you use the app), plus an email for key steps. You can follow everything live; see our guide to tracking your order.
Changed your mind? You can cancel the order yourself from the order page while it is still pending or confirmed.
If something does not add up
- You sent the wrong amount: do not send a second transfer straight away. Upload what you have and contact us so staff can advise.
- The receipt is blurry: upload a clearer image from the order page.
- Your payment has not been confirmed yet: check that the reference number matches the receipt, then reach out through Help.
Staying safe
- Never share your wallet PIN or password, with anyone, including people claiming to be from Shaam. We will never ask for it.
- Pay only to the details shown on your own order page. Ignore payment details sent by message, phone call or social media.
- Keep your receipts until the order is delivered and you are happy with it.
- Check the amount twice before you send.
- Keep your delivery code private until the parcel is in your hands.

FAQ
Can I pay part in dollars and part in pounds on delivery?
You can pay the courier in USD or SYP. If you want to mix them, ask the courier, or contact us before delivery.
Is there an extra fee for cash on delivery?
Checkout shows every fee before you confirm. Delivery fees depend on your governorate; see the shipping policy.
Can I pay by card?
Not yet. A card option is coming later.
