Alongside products made and stocked in Syria, Shaam has two imported sections: Amazon and Shein. They let you shop for electronics, fashion and beauty items that are hard to find locally. Imported items work a little differently from local ones, so this guide explains what to expect before you order.
Two kinds of imported items
Every imported product is one of two types. The product page makes it clear which one you are looking at.

Resell items
These behave like any other Shaam product. Add them to your cart, check out, and pay with cash on delivery, Sham Cash, Syriatel Cash, MTN Cash or bank transfer. We buy the item, bring it in and deliver it to your door, and you track the order from your order page as usual.
Partner (affiliate) items
These cannot be added to your cart. Instead you will see a button such as "Buy on Amazon" that opens the partner's store, where you complete the purchase directly with them. Shaam helps you find the product, but the sale, delivery and support are the partner's.
Delivery times
Resell items need time to be bought, shipped internationally and cleared before they join the local delivery network. As a rule of thumb, add about 10 to 20 extra days to the normal local delivery time for your governorate. The product page shows the expected window, and your order page updates at every step.
Tip: if you need something for a birthday or Eid, order imported items early, and check electronics and other local categories for in-stock alternatives.
Prices: what is included
The price you see on a resell item already includes the import margin and the international shipping. You pay the normal local delivery fee for your area on top, which checkout shows before you confirm. As with everything on Shaam, the price is in US dollars with Syrian pounds alongside.
Amazon prices on imported items are refreshed regularly, and the page shows a note such as "Price from Amazon, updated two hours ago". If an Amazon price changes before you order, the page will reflect it. If you are waiting for a better price, add the item to your watchlist and we will alert you to price drops and deals.
A note on Shein: Shaam does not copy or scrape Shein's website. Shein items come to us through official affiliate feeds.
Getting sizes right
Clothes are the most common reason for disappointment with imported orders, and most of it is avoidable:
- Use the size chart on the product page, not the size you usually wear. International sizing varies a lot between brands.
- Measure yourself (chest, waist, hips, length) and compare in centimetres.
- Read the fabric: stretchy fabrics forgive more; woven ones less.
- Between two sizes? Most people choose the larger one for loose styles like a wrap dress.
Returns on imported items
Returns for imported items follow what is written on the product page, because they depend on the item and where it comes from. Some resell items can be returned under our usual 7-day process from the order page; others cannot, for example for hygiene reasons. For partner items, returns are handled by the partner store under its own rules. When in doubt, read the product page and our returns policy before you buy.
Warranty notes for electronics
Electronics such as a fast charger, a portable speaker or a wireless mouse are popular imports. A few things to keep in mind:
- Check the product page for any warranty information. If it does not mention one, do not assume an international manufacturer's warranty will apply in Syria.
- Check the plug type and voltage; you may need an adapter.
- Test the item soon after delivery and keep the box and receipt.
Beauty and personal care
Imported skincare, such as a familiar moisturising cream, is another popular choice. Before you order:
- Read the ingredients listed on the product page, especially if you have allergies or sensitive skin.
- Check the size and format. The same product often comes in several sizes at different prices.
- Patch-test new products on a small area of skin before full use.
- Look at the returns note. Opened beauty and personal care items are often not returnable for hygiene reasons, so the product page is the final word.

No. Partner orders are placed with the partner, so tracking and support come from them.

Because it follows the price on Amazon, which we refresh regularly. The page shows when it was last updated.
